Musculo-skeletal conditions
Musculo-skeletal conditions are disorders that affect the bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints. These typically arise out of repeated injuries, stress on a particular muscle and/or poor posture. Majority of musculo-skeletal conditions are work related and usually develop over a period of time. Chronic pain and limited mobility are symptoms of the disorder. Physiotherapy is widely used to treat a vast array of musculo-skeletal conditions. The more common ones include: Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, neck pain, back pain, scoliosis, Epicondylitis (tennis elbow), tendonitis, Degenerative joint disease, arthritis, fractures, sciatica, hip and knee disorders. Through a variety of treatments, which include preventive measures and remedial therapy, physiotherapy helps to relieve pain as well as increase mobility for those suffering this condition.
